LOS ANGELES -- Obviously we're very disappointed right now. We thought we had a good effort tonight, but we have to find a way to close out these games when we're up by two goals.

It's happened to us twice in two games that the Los Angeles Kings have come back on us and won. When we get a lead like that we should be able to play with it and close those games out.

Now we've got to dig deep and figure a way out.

This is not what we planned. They have a veteran team over there, an experienced team that has been here before and they showed it in each series before this one, that if they're down they're not out. But we have to, as a group, figure out a way to stop them and contain them.

I thought in the second period tonight we were handling their surges pretty well. They scored, we got one back. They scored again, we got it back 11 seconds later. I don't think we sat back in the third period either even though we were up 4-2, but they found a way to get two.

We knew this was going to be a long series. This was not how we wanted to start it off, but we can't feel sorry for ourselves now, pout or sulk. We have to keep our heads up and go for in the next game.

Of course this one is a lot harder to put behind us than the first one. Tonight will be a tough night and obviously we have that long six-hour flight tomorrow, but we have to find a way to stay positive and regroup.

You want to get over losses quickly in the playoffs, but we have to make sure we don't get down. We have to create energy and make sure we're ready to go for Game 3 at home on Monday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, RDS) because Madison Square Garden will be rocking and the fans will expect us to come up with a big effort.

I know we'll do that.
