Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Jonathan Bernier and defenseman Carl Gunnarsson each underwent successful surgeries at the end of the season, the team announced Monday.

Bernier had surgery to repair a sports hernia, while Gunnarsson had hip surgery. They are progressing well and along with forward Joffrey Lupul (knee meniscus surgery) are expected to be fully recovered for the start of training camp in September.

Bernier was eighth in the NHL with a .923 save percentage despite facing the seventh-most shots in the League. He was 26-19-7 with a 2.68 goals-against average in his first season with Toronto.

Gunnarsson, a five-year veteran, played in 80 games and had three goals, 17 points and a plus-12 rating.
