Josh Lunden scores twice as IceCaps come from behind to defeat Pirates 5-4

PORTLAND, Maine - Josh Lunden scored twice, including the winner, as the St. John's IceCaps erased an early two-goal deficit to come from behind and defeat the host Portland Pirates 5-4 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.

Jerome Samson had a goal and two assists for the IceCaps (46-23-7) while John Albert and Kael Mouillierat each had a goal and an assist.

Brandon Yip had a pair of goals for the Pirates (24-39-13), who finish the regular season on a nine-game losing streak, and Tobias Rieder and Brandon Gormley added a goal apiece.

St. John's netminder Michael Hutchinson made 27 saves for the win as Portland's Louis Domingue stopped 31-of-36 shots in a losing cause.

The IceCaps went 1 for 5 on the power play while the Pirates scored once on three chances with the man advantage.

St. John's finish the regular season fourth in the Western Conference and will face the Albany Devils in Round 1 of the AHL playoffs.
