Blue Jackets' Umberger sidelined at least two weeks

Columbus Blue Jackets forward RJ Umberger is out "probably at least a couple of weeks" with an upper-body injury, according to coach Todd Richards.

The news was first reported Monday by Columbus Dispatch writer Shawn Mitchell.

If the timeline on the injury is accurate, Umberger won't return this season unless the Blue Jackets qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They have four games remaining, and currently lead the New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs by three points and the Washington Capitals by four points for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Umberger had been a healthy scratch several times in recent weeks. He scored 18 goals and 34 points in 74 games this season.
