DENVER -- The Pittsburgh Penguins will keep center Sidney Crosby, left wing Chris Kunitz and two defensemen, Olli Maatta and Brooks Orpik, out of the lineup Sunday against the Colorado Avalanche because of various injuries.

It's the first game Crosby (upper body) will miss this season; he has 102 points (36 goals, 66 assists) in 78 games.

Kunitz and Orpik are out with lower-body injuries, while Maata sustained an upper-body injury. The Penguins said none of the injuries are expected to be long-term.

"They're injuries that every one of the players has been playing with," Penguins coach Dan Bylsma told reporters. "It wasn't prudent to [have them play] in back-to-back games. Every player offers resistance [to sitting]. Every player wants to play every game, be in every game."

Forward Jussi Jokinen will play after being a scratch Saturday in the Penguins' 4-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild.

The Penguins (49-24-5) have clinched first place in the Metropolitan Division and second in the Eastern Conference.
