The New York Islanders and forward Eric Boulton agreed on a one-year contract Sunday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Boulton, 36, has four points (two goals, two assists) and 88 penalty minutes in 23 games this season, which was cut short by a wrist injury sustained March 4 at the Winnipeg Jets.

Selected by the New York Rangers in the ninth round (No. 234) of the 1994 NHL Draft, Boulton has played in 638 NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Atlanta Thrashers, New Jersey Devils and the Islanders. He has 77 points (29 goals, 48 assists) and 1,389 penalty minutes.
