MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens defenceman Josh Gorges will be out an estimated four weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a fracture in his left hand.

Gorges is believed to have suffered the injury while blocking a shot with a hand during Montreal's win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 1.

He was sent back to Montreal before the Canadiens' game against Phoenix last Tuesday.

Gorges has one goal, 12 assists and a plus-7 rating in 63 games this season.
