'NHL Revealed: A Season Like No Other' debuts on NBCSN, CBC and TVA in Canada

Series will also be made available across numerous digital platforms

NEW YORK -- National Hockey League fans will get an up-close, all-access look at many of their favorite stars in the upcoming series NHL Revealed™: A Season Like No Other™, which will debut tonight on NBCSN where the series is presented by Coors Light (Jan. 22 at 11:00 p.m. ET) and CBC where the series is fuelled by Gatorade (tomorrow, Jan. 23 at 9:00 p.m.). TVA Sports will broadcast the first episode in French on Saturday, Feb. 1. The series will be re-broadcast in Canada on Sportsnet (Jan. 26 at 9:00 p.m. local) and on NHL Network™ in the U.S. (Jan. 27 at 7:00 p.m. ET). The series also will reach a global audience via multiple digital platforms. The digital version will include a special extended cut with more behind-the-scenes footage.

NHL Revealed™: A Season Like No Other™ is a seven-part series that will tell the stories of nine teams -- on and off the ice -- as they participate in 2013-14 regular-season games, including the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ and the 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™. Additionally, the cameras will follow the NHL's top stars as they travel to Sochi in February to compete against each other in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games and, finally, reunite to begin the march to the 2014 Stanley Cup® Playoffs.

The special extended version of each NHL Revealed™: A Season Like No Other™ episode will be made available on demand through iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Instant Video (U.S. only), YouTube rentals (outside of North America), NHL.com (outside of North America) and Sony Entertainment Network. NHL Revealed™: A Season Like No Other™ - Extended Edition will feature an extra 15 minutes of never before seen footage to give fans a deeper look at the series. The first episode will be available for download for free across each platform. Extended episodes 2-7 can be purchased à la carte or through a season pass through select providers.

Production Team

The series is being produced by Toronto-based Bristow Global Media Inc. and its principal, Julie Bristow, with Ross Greenburg as an executive producer on behalf of the NHL. Bristow is a former executive at CBC whose duties included overseeing production of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada and creating and producing other top CBC programming. Greenburg, the former HBO Sports president and winner of more than 50 Sports Emmys, served as executive producer of HBO's initial 24/7: Road to the NHL Winter Classic. Steve Mayer, the senior vice president and executive producer of IMG Productions, also is serving as an executive producer for the series. Mayer oversees IMG Productions' entire New York-based production unit, which produces hundreds of hours of television each year.

NHL Outdoor Games

The 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ begins on Saturday, Jan. 25, when the Anaheim Ducks face the Los Angeles Kings at Dodger Stadium (6:30 p.m. PT / 9:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, RDS2). The first of two Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ games at Yankee Stadium follows on Sunday, Jan. 26, when the New York Rangers play the New Jersey Devils (12:30 p.m. ET, NBC, CBC). The Rangers battle the New York Islanders three days later on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Yankee Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, TSN, RDS2).

Following the NHL's participation in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ returns on Saturday, March 1, when the Pittsburgh Penguins square off against the defending Stanley Cup® champion Chicago Blackhawks at Soldier Field (7:00 p.m. CT / 8:00 p.m. ET, NBC).

The 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ wraps up this dramatic run of signature events on Sunday, March 2, in Vancouver, when the Vancouver Canucks host the Ottawa Senators at BC Place (1:00 p.m. PT / 4:00 p.m. ET, CBC, RS, NBCSN).

Regular-season outdoor NHL® games first made their way into the schedule in 2003-04, when the initial NHL Heritage Classic™ was played in Edmonton. The 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor was the League's sixth NHL Winter Classic® game, notable on many accounts, including breaking NHL attendance records and attracting more viewers across North America than ever before.
