LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Los Angeles Kings have traded backup goalie Ben Scrivens to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a third-round pick in the upcoming draft.

The Kings also recalled goalie Martin Jones from the AHL on Wednesday.

Scrivens went 7-5-4 over 19 appearances in his only season with the Kings, who acquired him from Toronto last summer in a deal including goalie Jonathan Bernier.

Scrivens had a 1.97 goals-against average, a .931 save percentage and three shutouts with the Kings. He excelled during a 6-1-3 stretch immediately after starter Jonathan Quick injured his groin in early November and missed 24 games.

But Scrivens was supplanted by Jones, who won his first eight starts to tie an NHL record. Jones has a 1.41 goals-against average, a .950 save percentage and three shutouts.
