OHL Roundup: Travis Dermott scores as Erie Otters edge Barrie Colts 6-5

BARRIE, Ont. - Travis Dermott scored the only goal of the third period as the Erie Otters survived a 6-5 win against the Barrie Colts in Ontario Hockey League play Thursday.

Michael Curtis had two goals for the league-leading Otters (32-7-2), with singles coming from Connor Brown, Dane Fox and Connor McDavid. Andre Burakovsky chipped in with four assists.

Jake Dotchin, Tyson Fawcett, Brendan Lemieux, Garrett Hooey and Cordell James scored for Barrie (20-17-3).

Oscar Dansk earned the win for Erie with 19 saves after starter Devin Williams was pulled for giving up four goals on 15 shots. In the Colts' net, Daniel Gibl stopped 25 shots.

STORM 4 ICEDOGS 2

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Scott Kosmachuk scored the decisive goal in the third period to lift Guelph to a road win.

Robby Fabbri, Ryan Horvat and Kerby Rychel also scored for the Storm (30-8-3).

Brendan Perlini and Carter Verhaeghe replied for Niagara (12-22-6).

Matthew Mancina stopped 29 shots in net for the Storm, while IceDogs goaltender Brent Moran made 17 saves.

BULLS 5 PETES 4

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — David Tomasek scored twice including the game winner with less than two minutes left in the third period as Belleville edged the Petes.

Jake Marchment also had a pair of goals for the Bulls (12-25-4), with Chad Heffernan adding a single.

Peterborough (16-21-4) spread its scoring around with goals from Brandon Devlin, Josh MacDonald, Eric Cornel and Greg Betzold.

Jason Da Silva turned aside 32 shots for Belleville. At the other end of the ice, Andrew D'Agostini made 35 saves.

BATTALION 4 STEELHEADS 1

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Jake Smith needed to make just 19 saves as the Battalion cruised past Mississauga.

North Bay (20-16-5) had a goal apiece from Mike Amadio, Zach Bratina, Jamie Lewis and Matt MacLeod.

Greg DiTomaso scored the only goal for the Steelheads (16-22-4).

Spencer Martin meanwhile stopped 27 shots in Mississauga's net.

67'S 8 SPITFIRES 3

WINDSOR, Ont. — Ottawa rallied from a 2-1 first-period deficit to crush the Spitfires.

Travis Konecny and Brendan Bell each scored twice for the 67's (14-21-4), while Jonathan Duchesne, Ryan Van Stralen, Erik Bradford and Connor Graham added one each.

Brady Vail's hat trick supplied all of Windsor's (25-15-1) offence.

Ottawa also benefited from superb goaltending with Philippe Trudeau making 41 saves. In the Spitfires' goal, Alex Fontinos stopped 33 shots.
