Host Sweden hangs on for 2-1 win over Russia at world junior hockey championship

MALMO, Sweden - Oskar Sundqvist scored the game-winning goal in the third period to give Sweden a 2-1 win over Russia in semifinal play Saturday at the world junior hockey championship.

The host side will play the winner of the Canada-Finland semifinal in Sunday's gold-medal game at Malmo Arena.

Filip Forsberg also scored for Sweden. Damir Zhafyarov had Russia's lone goal.

Russia outshot Sweden 27-21.

Sweden won gold in 2012 and took silver last year in Ufa, Russia. The loser of the Canada-Finland game will play Russia for the bronze medal.
