Sateri stops 34 shots as the Sharks down the IceCaps 5-2

WORCESTER, Mass. - Harri Sateri stopped 34 shots and Freddie Hamilton had a goal and an assist as the Worcester Sharks downed the visiting St. John's IceCaps 5-2 on Friday in American Hockey League play.

Taylor Doherty, Brodie Reid, Eriah Hayes and Marek Viedensky also scored for the Sharks (13-12-2), who won for the first time in three outings, while Dylan DeMelo and James Livingston each chipped in with two assists.

J.C. Lipon and Zach Redmond supplied the scoring for the IceCaps (15-12-3) and Jussi Olkinuora turned away 28-of-32 shots in a losing cause.

St. John's put 16 shots on Sateri in the opening 20 minutes and went into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead on Lipon's fifth goal of the season.

Hamilton tied the game at 15:25 of the second with a power-play goal and Doherty gave Worcester its first lead just 32 seconds later. Viedensky made it 3-1 for the Sharks at 18:41.

Reid and Redmond exchanged goals midway through the third period before Hayes scored into an empty net to secure the victory.

Worcester went 1 for 5 on the power play while St. John's scored once on four chances with the man advantage.
