Stars' Robidas out 4-6 months with broken leg

Dallas Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas is out four-to-six months with a fractured leg, the team announced Saturday.

Robidas was injured when he crashed into the boards Friday in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Chicago Blackhawks at American Airlines Center. The Stars have recalled Jamie Oleksiak to replace Robidas on the active roster.

The Stars have divided playing time among the defensemen on a by-committee basis this season. Alex Goligoski leads the team in average time on ice at 21:50 per game, and all six regulars average more than 18 minutes. Dallas has been remarkably healthy on the blue line to this point. Goligoski is the only one of the six to have missed a game, and it was one game.

Robidas has four goals, which is tied with Brendan Dillon for tops among Dallas defensemen, and five points in 24 games. He is third on the team average TOI at 19:54 per game.

Oleksiak was a first-round pick in 2011 (No. 14) by the Stars. The 6-foot-7, 250-pound defenseman played 16 games for Dallas last season.
