The Anaheim Ducks signed center Nick Bonino to a three-year contract extension, the club announced Thursday.

Bonino actually tweeted about the contract Wednesday, and the team made it official Thursday. Multiple media outlets reported the deal is worth $5.7 million, or an average annual value of $1.9 million. The 25-year-old has seven goals and 16 points in 27 games for the Ducks this season.

The seven goals is already a career high. He had 18 points in 50 games for the Ducks two seasons ago, and 13 in 27 contests in 2012-13. He was also one of the team's best forwards in a seven-game series loss to the Detroit Red Wings in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
