The Detroit Red Wings will be without center Pavel Datsyuk when they visit the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday due to a possible concussion.

Datsyuk Tweeted the following message Sunday morning:

Thank you very much for your well wishes. I doing am ok. Hoping to be back in the lineup very soon. Best wishes to all! Go #wings

Datsyuk did not make the trip to Buffalo after being elbowed in the jaw by defenseman Jared Cowen with 7:48 remaining in the Ottawa Senators' 4-2 victory Saturday at Joe Louis Arena. No penalty was called on the play. Datsyuk was shaken up momentarily but got up and played three more shifts. His last shift, however, lasted only 12 seconds, and he did not play in the final 1:51.

"We left him behind," Detroit general manager Ken Holland told MLive.com. "After the game he felt, I don't know the word, but he wasn't quite right. We're going through the protocol, see how he feels in the next day or two."

Holland said the Red Wings will be patient with their center.

"We'll wait a day or two to see how he feels," Holland told the Macomb Daily. "He said he felt fuzzy. He wasn't normal. We've all seen these blows to the head, so you just don't know."
