Islanders lose Hickey with lower-body injury

PHILADELPHIA -- The New York Islanders lost defenseman Thomas Hickey to a lower-body injury in the second period of their game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

Hickey played three shifts in the second period before leaving with 15:30 remaining after blocking a shot and limping to the bench. He had played nine shifts totaling 6:47 in the first period.

In 23 games Hickey has one goal, three assists and a plus-2 rating while averaging 18:14 of ice time per game.
