Nash rotated on several lines and did not take any contact. He told reporters he is focused on his conditioning and getting back in the lineup. He expects to travel for a game against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday in order to continue his conditioning work.
"I am definitely anxious to get back at it," Nash said. "Hopefully as soon as possible, but after being away that long I need some good practices.
"I felt pretty good actually, better than I thought I would feel. I kept up but there’s still some work that needs to be done."
The Rangers didn't provide an immediate timetable when Nash, who last played Oct. 8 against the San Jose Sharks, might return to the lineup. After playing the Canadiens the Rangers return to Madison Square Garden on Sunday to play the Los Angeles Kings.
The Rangers aren't scheduled to practice Thursday, but Nash is likely to skate on his own along with another forward recovering from injury, Dominic Moore. Moore, who has been out since Oct. 29 with a strained oblique, will return to the lineup Saturday if he feels good, coach Alain Vigneault said.
