No matter what division they've been in, the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers have never had much affection for each other. They're together again as part of the new Metropolitan Division, with the Rangers playing catch-up as they host the first-place Penguins in this week's Wednesday Night Rivalry game (7:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, TSN2, RDS2).

It's the first meeting of the season between the teams, who have battled each other several times each season since being placed together in the Patrick Division in 1981-82 and through their time in the Atlantic Division, beginning in 1993-94 and concluding in 2012-13.
