The New Jersey Devils activated goalie Cory Schneider off injured reserve Sunday.

Schneider (1-3-2, 2.14 goals-against average, .915 save percentage) missed the past three games with a lower-body injury and according to The Record (N.J.) will start against the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center on Sunday night.

Goalie Keith Kinkaid was returned to the Albany Devils of the American Hockey League. In addition, the Devils placed defenseman Peter Harrold (upper-body injury) on IR retroactive to Oct. 28 and recalled defenseman Jon Merrill from Albany.

Already missing center Travis Zajac (ankle) and left wing Patrik Elias (upper body), the Devils were shut out for the third time in their first 13 games in a 1-0 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday that ended a two-game winning streak. The team had just 14 shots on goal, the fewest since they had 14 in a 5-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 17, 2012.

The Devils (3-6-4, 10 points) are two points ahead of the last-place Flyers (4-9-0) in the Metropolitan Division.
