OHL Roundup: Bunting scores three goals to lead Greyhounds over Sting 8-3

SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds rallied from a 3-1 deficit with seven unanswered goals, five of them on the power play, to dump the Sarnia Sting 8-3 in Ontario Hockey League play Wednesday.

Michael Bunting had three goals and Jorgen Karterud scored twice for Sault Ste. Marie. Bunting's second goal came on a power play, and tied the game 3-3. Karterud scored the next two, both on the power play.

Tyler Gaudet, Andrew Fritsch and Patrick Watling also scored for the Greyhounds (9-1-2).

Bryan Moore had a pair for the Sting. Noah Bushnell also scored for Sarnia (4-8-1).

Greyhounds goalie Matt Murray made 19 saves. Sarnia's Taylor Dupuis faced no fewer than 15 shots in each period, and 47 in all.

At Erie, Pa., Troy Donnay's first goal of the season snapped a 2-2 tie in the second period, to lead Erie to its win over Plymouth.

Andre Burakovsky, Michael Curtis, Adam Pelech and Joel Wigle also scored for the Otters (10-2-1).

Mitch Jones and Alex Peters had short-handed goals for the Whalers in the second period.

Oscar Dansk stopped 17 shots for Erie, and Alex Nedeljkovic made 30 saves for Plymouth (6-8-0).
