Paterson makes 43 saves, leads Spirit to first win of season, 2-1 over Otters

SAGINAW, Mich. - Jake Paterson made 43 saves to backstop the Saginaw Spirit to their first win of the Ontario Hockey League season on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over the Erie Otters

Cody Payne got the Spirit (1-2-0) off to a fast start with his fifth goal of the young season just 47 seconds into the contest. Kristoff Kontos made it 2-0 at 2:07 of the second period.

Michael Curtis got Erie (1-1-1) within one with a power-play goal 4:06 into the second period.

Oscar Dansk made 29 saves for the Otters.
