Predators' Stalberg sustains upper-body injury, leaves games against Lightning in 1st period

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Predators forward Viktor Stalberg has been injured early in the first period of Nashville's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Stalberg was checked by Tampa's Dmitry Korobov inside the Lightning zone 5:39 into the opening period Tuesday night. Stalberg skated off the ice favouring his right arm and went straight to Nashville's locker room.

The Predators announced later in the period that Stalberg sustained an upper-body injury and would not return to the game.

Stalberg signed a four-year, $12 million contract with the Predators in the off-season after helping the Chicago Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup last season.
