Few players can follow a Stanley Cup Playoff hat trick with a goal in a rookie tournament, but Jean-Gabriel Pageau of the Ottawa Senators did that Thursday.

Derek Grant scored twice, and Pageau and Troy Rutkowski each had a goal in a 4-1 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the prospects tournament being played in London, Ontario.

"I think it went well; it was our first game," Pageau told the Senators' website. "The pace was pretty high but I think our team stayed in the game plan, worked pretty hard, and good things happen when you work hard."

Pageau scored a hat trick in Game 3 of a first-round series against the Montreal Canadiens last season.

"I think [I have] a little bit more experience," Pageau said. "I just try to lead the way here on the ice and I hope that my leadership helped the other players."

Cody Sylvester scored a power-play goal for Pittsburgh.

Morgan Rielly and Tyler Biggs scored in the shootout to give the Toronto Maple Leafs a 3-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks in the other round-robin game.

Rielly, a defenseman who was the fifth pick of the 2012 NHL Draft, created several scoring chances for the Maple Leafs, according to a CBC report.

"He was as advertised," Toronto Marlies coach Steve Spott told CBC.ca. "I put him in a tough spot in the shootout, but certain players want to be in those situations and Morgan is one of those guys."

Josh Leivo and Brad Ross scored in regulation for Toronto. Leivo did not play in the third period because of a chest contusion, CBC said.

"It was more a precautionary thing to take him out of the game," Spott said. "If it was a regular-season game he would have been fine."
