Canucks sign Weise, Stuart, Hamill

The Vancouver Canucks on Thursday announced the signings of forwards Dale Weise, Colin Stuart and Zach Hamill.

The signing of Weise, who was arbitration-eligible, was reported Wednesday by TSN's Darren Dreger to be a one-year, $750,000 contract.

Weise, 24, had three goals, six points and 43 penalty minutes in 40 regular-season games for the Canucks last season. He was scoreless in four Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Stuart, 31, last played in the NHL when he skated in two games for the Buffalo Sabres during the 2011-12 season. He had career highs in games played (33), goals (five) and points (eight) in 2008-09 for the Atlanta Thrashers.

Stuart played last season in Germany for the Iserlohn Roosters, with nine goals and 21 points in 45 games.

Hamill, 24, was the eighth pick in the 2007 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins and had four assists in 20 games with the team over parts of three seasons. He spent all of last season in the American Hockey League, combining for 19 goals and 44 points in 72 games split among the Hershey Bears, San Antonio Rampage and Milwaukee Admirals.

No contract terms were reported for Stuart or Hamill.
