The Buffalo Sabres announced Tuesday they have re-signed forward Luke Adam and goaltender Matt Hackett each to a one-year contract. Financial details were not revealed.

Adam, a center from St. John's, Newfoundland, appeared in four games for the Sabres last season but enjoyed something of a breakout campaign in 2011-12. In 52 games with Buffalo that season, Adam led all Sabres rookies with 10 goals and 20 points. In 2012-13, he played 67 games for Buffalo's American Hockey League affiliate in Rochester, with 15 goals and 37 points.

Hackett was chosen by the Minnesota Wild in the third round of the 2009 NHL Draft and has appeared in 13 NHL games, posting a 3-7-0 record with a 2.64 goals-against average. He appeared in one game for the Wild in 2012-13 before being traded to Buffalo as part of the NHL Trade Deadline deal that sent forward Jason Pominiville to the Wild. Hackett played in three games with Rochester in 2012-13, posting a 3-0-0 record with a 1.62 goals-against average.
