Jets come to terms with Patrice Cormier

The Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday announced that they have agreed to terms with restricted free-agent forward Patrice Cormier on a new contract. No terms were disclosed.

Cormier, 23, had no points and seven penalty minutes in in 10 games with the Jets last season. He played the majority of the 2012-13 season with the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League, scoring seven goals and finishing with 11 points and 69 penalty minutes in 35 games.

The native of Moncton, New Brunswick, has played in 40 NHL games, all with the Jets' franchise; he has one goal, two points and 11 minutes.

Cormier was originally selected by the New Jersey Devils in the second round (No. 54) in the 2008 NHL Draft.
