Ducks add size, sign Stortini, Yonkman

The Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday announced they have signed right wing Zack Stortini and defenseman Nolan Yonkman each to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Stortini, 27, has played 257 NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators, compiling 725 penalty minutes.

In 2012-13, he played 73 games for the Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey League, compiling 241 PIM. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound wing was a third-round pick (No. 94) by Edmonton in the 2003 NHL Draft.

Yonkman, 32, has played 74 NHL games with the Washington Capitals, Phoenix Coyotes and Florida Panthers, with 140 PIM. The 6-foot-6, 253-pound blueliner was chosen in the second round (No. 37) of the 1999 draft by Washington, and has played 12 seasons in the AHL.
