The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Wednesday they've re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Keith Aulie to a one-year, one-way contract. No financial terms were disclosed.

Aulie skated in 45 of 48 games with the Lightning in 2012-13, recording two goals and seven points with 60 penalty minutes while averaging 12:49 in ice time. He set career highs for games played, points and penalty minutes in a season. Aulie led all Tampa Bay skaters with 91 hits and ranked second for penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-6 native of Rouleau, Saskatchewan, has played in 121 NHL regular-season games with Tampa Bay and the Toronto Maple Leafs, scoring four goals with 12 points and 121 penalty minutes. The 24-year-old has played 110 games in the American Hockey League and was a member of the 2011 Calder Cup-champion Norfolk Admirals when that team was the Lightning's AHL affiliate.

Tampa Bay acquired Aulie from Toronto in exchange for forward Carter Ashton on Feb. 27, 2012. He was taken by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round (No. 116) in the 2007 NHL Draft.
