Blackhawks' Cup parade Friday on NHL Network

The Chicago Blackhawks will celebrate their second Stanley Cup championship in four seasons with a parade and rally in the Windy City on Friday.

Festivities get underway at 11:30 a.m. ET; the parade will run from United Center and end with a rally in Hutchinson Field in Grant Park.

"The City of Chicago is so proud of our Blackhawks, and we are looking forward to celebrating their championship with the best fans in the world," Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a statement Wednesday. "We also ask fans to enjoy the celebration responsibly by respecting the city and each other."

Double-decker buses featuring the team and front office personnel will ride to the rally from United Center.

The official parade route will begin at Des Plaines Street and Washington Street and proceed east until Wabash Street. Fans wanting to see the parade in person should watch along this route.

From there the motorcade will proceed east to Michigan Avenue, travel north to Randolph Street and east along Randolph to Columbus Drive.

The weather forecast for Friday is 77 degrees with a chance of rain. City officials are encouraging fans to take public transportation and refrain from bringing restricted items such as alcohol and backpacks.

Chicago defeated the Boston Bruins in the 2013 Stanley Cup Final in six games, rallying from a 2-1 deficit late in the third period by scoring twice in 17 seconds on goals by forwards Bryan Bickell and Dave Bolland.

Right wing Patrick Kane, who was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, appeared on "Late Show with David Letterman" on Wednesday.
