TORONTO - At first blush, it looked like a celebrity NHL catfight.

After Toronto captain Dion Phaneuf's attempt to check Nathan Horton resulted in a Boston two-on-one and a goal against James Reimer on Wednesday night, CBC aired video that seemed to show Reimer's wife looking daggers at Phaneuf's fiancee in the stands.

April Reimer, flanked by Reimer's mother, was sitting one seat and one row down from actress Elisha Cuthbert at the Air Canada Centre.

CBC had shown the Reimers throughout the night, documenting the tension they felt as the game went into overtime.

Reimer took to Twitter to dismiss the speculation that the two women were at odds.

For those who were thinkin @happyelishas and I were rolling our eyes @ eachother. Was the jerk beside us #rudecomment," she tweeted.

Attached to the tweet was a photo of the two women smiling together.

Tweeted Cuthbert: "Things are not always what they seem. I'm insulted and disappointed by a lot of these Comments. That's real. Not a 3 sec. Clip."

Phaneuf accepted blame for allowing the odd-man rush that resulted in David Krejci's winning goal.

Toronto heads to Boston for Game 5 of the series Friday, trailing three games to one.
