HALIFAX - Matthew Boudreau had a goal and two assists as the Halifax Mooseheads beat the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 4-3 on Saturday to grab a 2-0 lead in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League final.
It was the 14th consecutive win of the playoffs for the Canadian Hockey League's top-ranked team.
Halifax fans chanted “We want the Cup, we want the Cup” in what could be the team's last home game of the season. If the team sweeps its fourth straight series of the playoffs, they'll head to the Memorial Cup in Saskatoon from May 17-26.
MacAulay and Fournier also got into fights while sticking up for teammates when things got a little chippy.
Boudreau scored a back-breaker goal and restored Halifax's three-goal lead with just six seconds lefts in the second period.
The series heads to Baie-Comeau for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
