OSHAWA, Ont. - Mathias Niederberger made 35 saves for his first shutout of the post-season as the Barrie Colts blanked the host Oshawa Generals 4-0 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

The Colts lead the best-of-seven second-round matchup 3-0 and have a chance to wrap up the series on Tuesday when Oshawa hosts Game 4 at the General Motors Centre.

Steven Beyers scored what turned out to be the winner just 3:09 into the game on a five-on-three man advantage with a point shot that beat Oshawa's goaltender Daniel Altshuller between his pad and the post.

Beyers also sprung Anthony Camara free for a break-away goal in the third period while Aaron Ekblad scored Barrie's second goal on a breakaway as well after Mark Scheifele found him coming out of the penalty box in the final minute of the first period.

Andreas Athanasiou finished off the scoring with just under five minutes remaining, roofing a backhand past Altshuller's glove.

Altshuller made 21 saves in the game for the Generals.

Barrie's league-leading power play went 3 for 5 as Oshawa failed to score on five chances and are now 1 for 39 on the power play in the post-season.
