NHL alums to play Sandy relief charity game

A number of former NHL players will take part in a charity hockey game to benefit the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.

The game will be played at 1 p.m. ET on April 13 at Prudential Center.

Scheduled to participate in the game are Ken Daneyko, Bruce Driver, Grant Marshall, Jim Dowd, Sergei Brylin, Viacheslav Fetisov, Alexei Kasatonov, Valery Kamensky, Alexei Yashin and Darius Kasparaitis.

All proceeds from the game will support programs designed to fulfill the needs of New Jersey communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Tickets may be purchased at Ticketmaster, Ticketmaster.com, charge by phone at (800) 745-3000, or at the Prudential Center box office.

Also expected to participate are Bob Carpenter, Bill Guerin, Claude Lemieux, Randy McKay, Stephane Richer, Brendan Shanahan, Ron Duguay, Brian Leetch and Brian Propp.

In addition to the three 20-minute periods, live auctions that include players' jerseys and autographed items will be held during intermissions. Selected players also will participate in a postgame autograph signing.
