Toronto Marlies eight game points streak ends with 4-1 loss to Rockford IceHogs

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Toronto Marlies lost in regulation for the first time in nine games, bowing 4-1 to the Rockford IceHogs in AHL play Wednesday. Winger Spencer Abbott opened the scoring for the Marlies (36-21-8) at 12:06 of the first period, and it was all Rockford (34-28-3) after that.

Left winger Jeremy Morin tied the game at 4:36 of the second period with a power-play goal and he scored the winner with his 27th of the season while the IceHogs were shorthanded at 16:16.

Defenceman Steve Montador made it 3-1 at 4:06 of the third period, and centre Brad Mills added an empty netter at 19:38.

Carter Hutton made 19 saves for the IceHogs, while Drew MacIntyre Rockford stopped 26 shots for Toronto.

Rockford was 1 for 5 on the power play, while the Marlies were 0 for 2.
