DALLAS -- Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog was scratched from Saturday's game against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center with what was termed by the Avs as a torso injury.

Landeskog, who has 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 18 games this season, participated in the morning skate -- apparently with no issues -- before being scratched before the drop of the puck. He missed 11 games between Jan. 28 and Feb. 20 with head and leg injuries.

In his absence, David Jones returned to the ice for Colorado after being a healthy scratch for Wednesday's 4-3 win against Dallas at the Pepsi Center.
