Greg Scott scores winner as Marlies edge Admirals 3-2 in overtime

MILWAUKEE - Greg Scott scored at 4:20 of overtime as the Toronto Marlies defeated the host Milwaukee Admirals 3-2 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.

Jerry D'Amigo had a goal and an assist for the Marlies (36-20-7), who are 8-1-1 in their last 10 outings, while rookie Sam Carrick recorded his first-career AHL goal.

Brad Winchester and Anthony Bitetto scored for the Admirals (31-24-7), who retained the eighth and final playoff position in the Western Conference by earning a single point.

Jussi Rynnas started in net for Toronto and stopped 25-of-27 shots before leaving late in the second period with a lower-body injury. Drew MacIntyre replaced Rynnas and earned the win after making 14 saves in relief.

Milwaukee's Magnus Hellberg turned away 23-of-26 shots in defeat.

Winchester opened the scoring for Milwaukee just 1:23 into the first period, however Carrick responded at 5:04 to make it 1-1 after 20 minutes of play.

The Admirals dominated the second period, outshooting the Marlies 21-5, and Bitetto put his club ahead with a power-play goal at 5:03.

D'Amigo forced overtime with his 13th goal of the season 3:23 into the third period.

The Marlies went 0 for 5 on the power play while the Admirals scored once on four chances with the man advantage.

Toronto completes three road games in three days on Sunday when they head to Peoria, Ill. to face the Rivermen. A victory would move the Marlies into second in the Western Conference as they currently sit in third, one point behind the Grand Rapids Griffins.
