OSHAWA, Ont. - Scott Laughton scored twice and set up one more as the Oshawa Generals defeated the visiting Niagara IceDogs 5-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.
Lucas Lessio and Michael Dal Colle each had a goal and an assist for the Generals (1-0-0) while Bradley Latour scored the other.
Ryan Strome and Carter Verhaeghe scored for the IceDogs (0-1-0).
Daniel Altshuller stopped 17 shots for the win as Christopher Festarini made 27 saves in defeat.
Oshawa went 0 for 9 on the power play while Niagara scored once on five chances with the man advantage.
The Generals lead the first-round series 1-0 and will host Game 2 on Sunday Mar 24th at the General Motors Centre.
