Ducks sign Patrick Maroon to two-year extension

The Anaheim Ducks on Thursday signed left wing Patrick Maroon to a two-year contract extension through the 2014-15 season. No financial terms were disclosed.

The 24-year-old has two goals and 10 penalty minutes in 11 games with the Ducks this season, as well as 17 goals, 39 points and 115 PIM with their AHL affiliate in Norfolk.

Acquired from Philadelphia with David Laliberte in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson on Nov. 21, 2010, Maroon has appeared in 13 career NHL games with Anaheim, scoring two goals with 12 penalty minutes. He has also played parts of six AHL seasons with Philadelphia (2007-09), Adirondack (2009-10), Syracuse (2010-12) and Norfolk (2012-13), scoring 109 goals and 267 points with 520 penalty minutes in 340 games.
