Lessio scores in regulation and shootout as Generals edge 67's

OTTAWA - Brian Hughes and Lucas Lessio scored in the shootout as the Oshawa Generals held on to defeat the host Ottawa 67's 6-5 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Lessio also scored in regulation time for the Generals (41-22-4), who led 5-2 after 40 minutes of play, while Michael Dal Colle had a goal and an assist.

Adam Lloyd, Justice Dundas and Scott Sabourin scored for Oshawa and Ken Appleby made 19 saves for the win.

Ryan Van Stralen had two goals and an assist for the 67's (16-44-6), who are winless in three outings, and Joseph Blandisi chipped in with three assists.

Taylor Davis, Sean Monahan and Connor Brown had a goal each for Ottawa.

Jacob Blair allowed five goals on 25 shots and was replaced after two periods by Clint Windsor. Windsor stopped all 10 shots he faced in 25 minutes of relief, however he took the loss after giving up two goals in the shootout.

Oshawa went 0 for 4 on the power play while Ottawa scored once on six chances with the man advantage.
