Subban makes 20 saves as Bulls hand Steelheads 10th loss in a row

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Malcolm Subban earned his fifth shutout of the season as the Belleville Bulls downed the host Mississauga Steelheads 3-0 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Subban turned aside 20 shots as the Bulls (43-16-8) won for the fourth time in its last five outings.

Jake Cardwell and Daniil Zharkov each had a goal and an assist for Belleville while Brendan Gaunce scored once.

Spencer Watson made 18 saves for the Steelheads (25-34-8), who have lost 10 games in a row and will be relying on their final game of the season for a post-season position.

Mississauga must beat the Ottawa 67's on Saturday in order to keep its hope alive of earning one of the final two playoff spots in the OHL Eastern Conference. The club is currently tied with the Kingston Frontenacs for eighth place with 58 points. The Peterborough Petes sit seventh with 59 points. All three clubs have one regular-season game remaining.

Belleville went 1 for 3 on the power play while Mississauga failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
