OTTAWA - Zach Bell and Brandon Robinson each scored while Matej Machovsky only needed 10 saves as the Brampton Battalion dominated the Ottawa 67’s with a 3-0 win Tuesday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

Mathew Santos, into an empty net, had the other goal for the Battalion (31-25-9), who increased their lead to four points over the Sudbury Wolves in the battle for fourth place in the Eastern Conference and home ice in the opening round of the playoffs with three games to play.

The score flattered the 67’s, who were outshot 55-10. Ottawa netminder Clint Windsor was impressive, despite the loss. He finished 52 saves.

The listless 67’s (16-44-5) clinched last place overall with the loss, ensuring the first pick in the OHL Priority draft.

The 67’s failed to register a shot on goal in the first period and were outshot 17-0 but the Battalion only led 1-0 after 20 minutes.

The shots were slightly closer in the second period with the Battalion holding a 22-6 advantage, but again they were only able to get one puck past Windsor.

Shots in the final period were 16-4 in favour of Brampton but they were unable to beat Windsor as Santos scored the only goal of the period into an empty net.
