CHICAGO – Edmonton Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk left Sunday’s game at United Center against the Chicago Blackhawks midway through the second period after a collision with teammate Teemu Hartikainen in the crease.
Hartikainen was coming back to defend a Blackhawks rush when he tried to avoid Dubnyk, who also had Chicago star forward Marian Hossa charging hard to the net at 9:45 of the second period. Hartikainen’s abdomen/hip area contacted the back of Dubnyk’s head and appeared to
push the goalie’s head to an awkward angle sideways. Hossa also appeared shaken up on the play after ramming into the crossbar at top speed, but remained in the game.
