Alderson scores twice as Greyhounds come from behind to beat Rangers

KITCHENER, Ont. - Brandon Alderson scored two goals and set up one more as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds came from behind to beat the host Kitchener Rangers 5-3 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Jared McCann and Colin Miller each had a goal and two assists for the Greyhounds (35-24-6), who trailed 3-1 heading into the third period, while Sergey Tolchinksy had the other.

Tobias Rieder scored twice for the Rangers (37-19-9) and Joshua Leivo, Ryan Murphy and Radek Faksa each had two assists.

Matt Puempel also scored for Kitchener.

Matt Murray made 38 saves for the win as John Gibson turned away 42-of-46 shots in defeat.

Sault Ste. Marie went 1 for 6 on the power play while Kitchener scored two goals on five chances with the man advantage.
