Perlini scores shootout winner as IceDogs storm back to beat Steelheads 4-3

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Brendan Perlini scored the shootout winner Thursday as the Niagara IceDogs battled back from a 3-1 third-period deficit to defeat the Mississauga Steelheads 4-3 in the Ontario Hockey League.

Brett Ritchie scored on the power play in the third for Niagara before a Ryan Strome deflection late in the period sent the game to overtime.

Carter Verhaeghe also scored for the IceDogs (30-30-4).

Lucas Venuto, Kristoff Kontos and Andrew Goldberg replied for Mississauga (25-32-6).

Brent Moran made 25 saves to pick up his third straight win for Niagara.

Tyson Teichmann stopped 28 shots in the loss.

The IceDogs were 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Steelheads finished 0-for-3.
