AHL forward MacLeod has benign mass on brain

The family of Springfield Falcons forward Wade MacLeod, who suffered a seizure after a hit during Sunday's game against the Adirondack Phantoms, released the following statement on Thursday through the team:

"Doctors have discovered a benign mass in Wade's brain. He will be undergoing further examination to determine the appropriate treatment. We appreciate the respect of Wade's privacy at this time."

MacLeod was taken to Baystate Medical Center after the game, where he was treated and later released.

A 26-year-old forward from Coquitlam, British Columbia, MacLeod has four goals and 10 points in 19 games this season for the Falcons. He has 15 goals and 42 points in 94 career AHL games.

The game was postponed after the medical emergency by mutual agreement of the Falcons and Phantoms, and will be resumed on Friday, March 1 at 6:05 p.m. prior to that evening's scheduled contest between the two clubs.
