Wisconsin skates past Minnesota and Notre Dame beats Miami, Ohio, at Soldier Field

CHICAGO - Joel Rumpel kicked away a shot as time expired for his 36th save and Wisconsin beat second-ranked Minnesota 3-2 Sunday in the Hockey City Classic at Soldier Field.

Sean Little scored what proved to be the game-winner at 16:22 of the second period for the Badgers (13-10-7, 10-7-7), who spoiled the Gophers' first outdoor game. Wisconsin is 3-0-0 in games played outdoors.

Kevin Schulz and John Ramage also scored in the second period for the Badgers.

Seth Ambroz and Zach Budish scored in the third period for the Gophers (20-6-4, 12-6-4). Adam Wilcox made 16 saves.

Notre Dame beat Miami, Ohio, 2-1 in the first game of the double-header. Mario Lucia and Jeff Costello scored for the Fighting Irish. Miami's Kevin Morris scored in the third for the RedHawks.
