Murray perfect in Greyhounds' 8-0 rout of Sting, Fritsch has four goals

SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - Matt Murray made 25 saves as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds routed the Sarnia Sting 8-0 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action

Andrew Fritsch had four goals and an assist for the Greyhounds (30-21-4). It marked his first hat trick since his rookie season. Nick Cousins re-took the OHL scoring lead over Sarnia's Charlie Sarault with four assists for Sault Ste. Marie.

Nick Halagian added a pair of goals for the Greyhounds. David Broll had a goal and an assist while Tyler Gaudet added a single.

J.P. Anderson got the start for Sarnia, stopping 20 shots before being pulled after the Greyhounds fourth goal. Knick Dawe came in and stopped 21 shots the rest of the way for the Sting (30-22-3).

The win leapfrogs the Greyhounds over Sarnia in the OHL's Western Conference standings into sixth and keep Sault Ste. Marie three points behind the Plymouth Whalers, who also won Wednesday.

The Whalers sit in the second seed in the Western Conference as the top team in the West Division.

The Greyhounds went 2 for 5 on the power play while the Sting were 0 for 4.
