KITCHENER, Ont. - Tobias Rieder had a pair of goals and Joshua Leivo chipped in two assists to lead the Kitchener Rangers to 4-3 win over the visiting London Knights on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Rieder and Leivo extended their point streaks to 12 games, giving them the longest active streaks in the OHL.
Joel Vienneau turned aside 36-of-39 shots in the win as while Anthony Stolarz made 32 saves in his first loss of the season.
Rieder started the scoring in the first period, sliding in a rebound, and Puempel made it 2-0 at 12:26 with a wrist shot that found room under Stolarz’s blocker.
The Knights tied the game with Domi banking a shot off Leivo on a wraparound attempt and Anderson flipping a rebound over Vienneau on a power play at 19:09.
Thomson regained the lead for the Rangers with eight seconds left in the period, clanking a rebound off the far post and in.
Rieder scored the eventual winner at 14:23 of the third period with Seth Griffith in the box for high sticking, but Harrington scored from the slot three minutes later to make it close.
Both teams were 1 for 2 on the power play.
