Giants beat Cougars to end three-game winless streak

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Cain Franson, Brett Kulak and Travis McEvoy each had a goal and an assist as the Vancouver Giants defeated the host Prince George Cougars 4-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Jakob Stukel also scored for the Giants (14-41-0), who halted a three-game winless streak, while Payton Lee turned away 23-of-24 shots for the win.

Jari Erricson scored the lone goal for the Cougars (17-31-8), who lost in regulation for the first time in five outings, and Mac Engel made 32 saves in defeat.

Vancouver went 2 for 6 on the power play while Prince George failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.
