Machovsky makes 25 saves as the Battalion edge the Wolves 2-1 in SO

SUDBURY, Ont. - Francis Menard and Nick Paul both scored in the shootout as the Brampton Battalion edged the host Sudbury Wolves 4-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Barclay Goodrow scored in regulation for the Battalion (24-19-9) while Matej Machovsky stopped 25-of-26 shots for the win.

Mathew Campagna scored for the Wolves (24-18-10), who have dropped back-to-back contests, and Franky Palazzese made 35 saves in a losing cause.

Campagna opened the scoring for Sudbury 6:42 into the first period before Goodrow responded with a power-play goal at 14:52 of the second.

Brampton went 1 for 5 on the power play while Sudbury failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

The Wolves currently sit fourth in the Eastern Conference, one point ahead of the Battalion.
